What is the ARC?

What is it about english that is fun? I think english is actually very exciting. Just knowing how to communicate with people correctly is very insightful. That is the purpose of the ARC at Sinclair Community College. It is merely a training tool. It helps students become better writers. The ARC stands for the Academic Resource Center and is located in the top floor of the library. I personally learned alot of material and skills in the ARC. Through a program called PLATO it would quiz and refresh you. It would refresh you on things such as puncuation, grammer, and even how to make a complete sentence. I do believe the ARC is a great resource center for students to refresh there english skills. I think by making it a priority for students to do an hour each week in the ARC is a positive idea. In the English 297 AC class at sinclair, (which was the first pilot class in spring quarter, 2010) I believe was helpful, but definately better with the ARC time added on. We had a side by side computer program called mywritinglab. I won't even talk about that simply because it was a waste of time. The class was doing double the same thing that we were already doing in ARC. The ARC was also the better choice becasue if I or another student had a question we had a teacher or staff member there to help us. Overall, I think the ARC was a very positive experience. I think many students will be using the Academic Resource Center for many years to come.
